In the fall of 1998 came 13 more authentic, beautifully melodic and powerful soul-sending originals! Doug Smith's 8th compact disc is described as "Powerful". From the heart-felt "Stone Road" and the title track "HOPE", to the furiously fast "Tumbleweed Rag" and rock driven "Rat House Blues", Smith's energy is unmatched and his creativity soars on every track. The final song is an epic within itself. As described by Smith, "West Texas is the most memorable and most cherished of all the compositions I have created. That melody seems to empower me, because it involves heritage and emotions involved with this great place I call home!"
