Just in time for the new millennium comes Doug Smith's 9th compact disc "LIVE", which may be the most incredible musical project under his belt! "I chose the 13 strongest works I have made, rehearsed them until I was literally sick of them, really prepared myself to play. There were over 700 people in the theatre that night, I had the finest 9'concert Steinway grand piano in front of me, Alan Crossland, my favorite sound engineer, who is brilliant with digital recordings and running the sound gear. When I stepped onto that stage that night, I knew something great was going to happen. I had prayed for a miracle and after being on stage for 2 1/2 hours, 13 songs later, Doug Smith "LIVE" was born. After several failed efforts in the past to record something live, I finally had it. Thirteen of my strongest melodies performed "LIVE", recorded onto a digital format. Words cannot describe what that felt like, but I can tell you that I am eternally indebted to God for smiling so generously on me, all my life, but especially on that one particular night in the Allen Theatre at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas, when I had a Steinway in front of me and beautiful people in the house, to witness. I am very humbly thankful! "LIVE" is the most exciting recording of my Life!"
