Doug Smith could have called his latest release "There it is & Wow!" or "Speechless" because tha'Õs exactly the effect on the listener as they participate in this musical journey, looking into the soul of a man who's musical intellect and spirituality are surpassed by very few in the world. Within seconds it is evident that his love of music and art is second only to his love of family and the experience of life. Doug Smith's playing cannot be exaggerated, because it possesses a perfectionist quality that makes it overwhelming while comforting, and new while distantly familiar.

It's hard to imagine where Doug Smith's body stops and the piano starts. His physical technique and phrasing are as effortless as breath, making him one with the instrument and his music. His lullaby like soothing and warming melodies showcase his conversational approach to the piano, and when he chooses to command the instrument, his thunderous renderings display the depth, richness and beauty that only a premium concert Steinway Grand can produce.
